Full Bio

I have always been interested in the stories of people's lives, in the experiences that have led to the present moment, as well as the accompanying thoughts and emotions surrounding those experiences. I love hearing about the passions and motivations that lead to career and life choices and had the pleasure of hearing these passions and motivations from UNM students and alumni at the Office of Career Services for nearly ten years. I have lived in Albuquerque my whole adult life and am a life-long Lobo. I received my bachelor's degree in Psychology and my Master's degree in counseling from UNM. My favorite food of New Mexico? Tamales from El Modelo!

I use a Person-Centered clinical approach, which means I operate from the foundation that my clients are the experts on their own lives. The answers you seek are within you- my role is to support you as you uncover your own personal truths and use them to help you live a more genuine and fulfilling life.

I believe we all have a guiding intuition deep within us which, if followed, can lead us to be our best selves and to live a rich authentic life. Often this intuition gets covered over by our thoughts and beliefs of how we "should" be, by the expectations of others, and by societal norms. When this happens, we can feel disconnected and inauthentic, leading to symptoms of anxiety or depression. My goal as a therapist is to help my clients identify and question the defeating messages that are repeating in their minds and the negative emotions that are hijacking their hearts, and to develop healthy and sustainable coping strategies to effectively meet life's challenges. Together we can begin to pull back the layers of "shoulds" that have covered over your true nature to expose the beautiful self within. I believe that living from this place of genuineness not only improves our own lives, but the lives of those around us and everyone we meet. By working to uncover and live from our true nature, we are literally helping to make the world a better place!
